Can I make my own psychoacoustics audio codec?

Can I make my own psychoacoustics audio codec, like Bink Audio, MP3 and Musepack? Named: PsychoAudio
The format should be tuned for mid-high bitrates (~150-180 kbps), like Musepack.
And I call it from the command line: "psychoenc.exe input.wav output.aud"
Optional argument: "-quality" (from 0 to 10), 0 = best, 10 = worst. Floating point numbers are supported like "3.50" or "7.25"!
Thanks for this!

Sure! What is your end goal?

Can I make my own psychoacoustics audio codec
Only if you're willing to do all the work yourself.
BS, IT'S TOO HARD AND I DON'T KNOW COMPLEX LANGUAGES.

So you've answered your own question.

You've been on about this right left and centre.  There is no purpose in reinventing the wheel, there are already sufficient wheels.  Businesses invent new wheels so they can control them, not because they're needed.
It's your privilege to disagree, but that doesn't make you right and me wrong.

ChatGPT can't create a new encoder because it's too complex.
ChatGPT can only produce the simplest code.  It can produce a starting point for slightly more complex code, but the code then needs human tweaking to make it work properly.  But in all cases, you have to remember that AI is an illusion: the answers it produces to queries are a digest of existing information and misinformation, and although on the surface of it the answers produced appear authoritative, in fact they may be garbage and require detailed checking.

EG: when somebody said the cheese wouldn't stick on their pizza, AI suggested using glue in the recipe.  Rely on AI at your own risk.

Try it? Do not ask my money to spend on it.

So, Claude 3.5 Sonnet (with reasoning) maybe give better and more code?
Your initial question should be:
‘Is there an AI model that can create a psychoacoustic codec for me without me having to use my brain a little bit?’

Lots of smart people have already made very good codecs.  If you don't care to learn yourself, you don't need to use a dumb AI to make a terrible one.  Instead, download a good one and don't think about it further.

"Can I create a scientific breakthrough and receive a nobel price? I can already read and multiply small numbers"
Don't we have a moderation here kicking out the increasing number of trolls (or non self-aware weirdos)?

I'm not sure if that in itself violates any TOS.
Sure there are claims that - especially when put together - aren't quite up to what TOS#8 should have covered, but that term was ill-formulated ever since day one.

IMO, there's no need for any TOS provision.

People should just apply the commonsensical "Do not feed the troll." (Which hasn't unfortunately been the case here) and let them tire themselves out, that's all.

Whether they're just another village idiot or a 12-year-old whose hormone-induced attention-seeking compels them to do so, they've bound to give up sooner or later, if shown "the hand" and let talking to themselves.

Grok 3 with Think can do more complex projects with fewer errors. Because it's smart now!
It's one of the smartest AI models as of today. No more ChatGPT or other BS crap!

Does Grok3 have ears? Does it have a brain to compute what his ... its ears deliver to him?
Just to add to the fact that the owner of Grok is ... ahem ... a bit weird.
But if you are so confident, try it! Do not hesitate to let Grok create a groundbreaking new lossy codec!

Yes. However you need to actually learn what you are doing. AI cant write everything for you, but it can explain algorithms, explain aspects of code to you, and point out potential bugs. But its not perfect. Start with something simple, copy QOA or something, and work your way up.

@MihaiPopa12346 and if you really think to be the first on this world having this idea ... well ...

AI cannot create anything original, it will only plagiarise.
