EAC: Detec GAPS for MP3 is usefull?

Hi to all,

I have configurated EAC + LAME.

Now i'm ripping all my CD collection to MP3.

I have only a question:

- detecting GAPS are usefull only if I create CUE or is the same usefull if I create MP3?

If is not necessary for obatining a very good quality MP3 I will don't detect gaps.

Thanks!

Detecting gaps makes no difference ripping to any format unless you plan to remove them, place them at the beginning of the track, or extract them separately, in which case you must detect them before these options are made available.

In conclusion if I want only to rip my Cd to MP3, without CUE sheet or other archiving system detecting gap is NOT usefull?

Before the extraction I press F4.

In conclusion for MP3 if I press F4 or I don't press... it don't change nothing for MP3 ripping?

As I said already, with regards to the audio being extracted, you only need to press F4 if you want to do something different with gaps than the default method of placing them at the end of each track.  As I also said already, this is true regardless of the file format.

If you want to create a CUE sheet, pressing F4 is a redundant step, gaps would otherwise be detected automatically.
