EAC v0.95 pb1 out

With good and bad news:

Finally here comes 0.95pb1. The translation of the program took longer than I expected. Further, I had (and will have) less and less time for working on EAC. The main feature is the language SDK, which enables people to translate EAC into nearly any language. There is more information on that at the download location. Besides that, there are only minor additions and a lot of bugfixes. Please make sure again that your compression queue is empty when installing the update!
Anyway, I hope you will like it!

I won't be able to play with the new version until sometime this evening, but can someone who has already had a chance to explore 0.95b1 tell us whether any new formats have been added to those EAC recognizes as source material for burning CDs?

Works fine here. Only in the compression options, the parameter passing scheme was set to "LPAC lossless", i set it back to "User defined" for my MPC profile.

In the 'append files' window, it says: "Audio Files (*.wav, *.mp3, *.mpc, *.ape)".

In the 'append files' window, it says: "Audio Files (*.wav, *.mp3, *.mpc, *.ape)".

When I add some mp3 and mpc's EAC gives
Code: [Select]
The following files were not accepted as audio source : ..
and then it lists the mpc's

Oops, it's better with mppdec in the EAC directory (maybe that was obvious  ) accidentally adding a file with an id3v2 header makes EAC hang. (Yeah, I know that  evil  header must be removed)

Anyway after that,  the mpc's still have lenght 0:00

What simple thing am I missing?

P.S. at a certain point I had a big (34 MB) -noclip file in the the same directory as the mp* files.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.

I'm not going to be able to use this new version since some of the features on the right hand side of the program run off the screen when the program is opened in its normal window and when maximized. I was hoping I could close EAC, run it again and then the areas off screen would correctly load when reopened as with the previous version but I had no such luck.

Should users wait for a non "pre" beta before we start using the new version to archive?

Are there any special upgrade instructions or do you just uninstall the previous version and install the new one?

No need to uninstall, just copy it on top of the old version, works fine. I always use the newest EAC version, since it usually takes ages till a new version comes out, even a non-prebeta.

iam trying to do a slovenian translation, any clues on what could be the reason that for example 'Offset, Sample, Track' wouldnt be translated as well?

--------------------------------------

p.s. for potential slovenian readers:

Offset = Zamik
Sample = Vzorec
Track = Sled

se strinjamo? (agreed?)

Ask André.
And btw. he asked that ppl tell him that they are going to do a translation before they start to avoid several ppl doing the same translation.

Consistency, i guess. These are often used words which you'll find in many EAC guides etc. or on forums like HA. Therefore, it's good when the terminology stays the same. The german translation translates a little too much for my liking, such as "Playlist" (Spielliste). Although the translation is correct, nobody here calls a playlist "Spielliste"; the english term has been fully adopted.

will jump into all that only after iam sure i can do at least semi-pro translation, meaning ill find some1 that will work on 'gramatical' (not only techical) part of the text as well.  B)  (and hopefully learn something about eac at the same time as well)

agreed.  i know this is not my program, but assuming that all users use higher resolutions is wrong.  i also noticed that EAC won't default to English (or german or whatever) if you delete the language files (at least on some parts, like tabs).

No, I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Is this safe to use being the first beta or are there any nasty bugs in it?
