Using EAC, is VOB ASPI still recommended?

In the Configuring EAC guide it recommends installing "the ASPI driver by VOB to aviod problems later on". In looking for this it seems to be old so I wonder if this is:
    a) still the best appraoch
    b) required at all, and
    c) where the latest version can be downloaded

I have a Mac Pro running Windows XP SP3

Thank you..................... liz

I don't know what guide you're referring to but you'd be better of reading the EAC Wiki hosted here.

a) No. If you need an aspi driver the preferable approach is use the Nero ASPI dll file. But, if you don't need it, don't use it.
b) I'm under the impression most people don't need it.
c) Nero ASPI. If required, simply put this in the EAC folder. Restart EAC and from within Options > Interface select Installed external ASPI interface.

You don't need any ASPI implementation, since XP comes with SPTI which replaced ASPI.

OK, thanks guys

BTW the guide is quite good and linked to from the EAC site, it is the ESSENTAIL Ripping Guide here: http://users.fulladsl.be/spb2267/. But bad that the info is out of date!
