DTS decoding disturbing shorter noise.

Hi, first post

I am having problem with DTS decoding. Everytime I listen to DTS .wav files there is a shortet disturbing noise. That noise lasts around half second and appears everytime i click  to hear a DTS wav. When the music starts by itself there is no noise.
Renaming the file to .dtswav or .dts stops the noise but those format are lossy.
I've tried to convert to another formats (FLAC and WavPack) but still the noise appears.

DTS is already lossy, you lose nothing by renaming the files to .DTSWAV or .DTS. Although you do gain the ability to tag the files with APEv2 tags.

Thanks!
On properties for DTS .wav show the encoding is lossless, but for .dtswav/.dts the encoding is lossy. Is that just formality or DTS . wav is really lossless?

DTS is a lossy encoding of multi-channel sound, made so that it "fits" into standard CD Audio (44100 Hz sampling rate, 2 channels). Or uncompressed WAV. If you'd play it without a DTS decoder, you'd hear only the noise.

fb2k displays "lossless" for the WAV, because it contains losslessly the compressed data. Only the DSP part later determines it's a DTS data being played and replaces them with the uncompressed, decoded 5.1 sound.

.DTSWAV files are directly sent to the DTS input component, so it can say they are lossy and multichannel from the start.
Full-quoting makes you scroll past the same junk over and over.

Thank you very much.

But why I can convert DTS .wav to .flac and can´t convert .dtswav to flac? Didn't you say that DTS .wav and .dtswav are the same thing?
Sorry for being persistent but I really wanna learn.

Well I don't personally use DTS files, so my view can't be verified, but it should work as follows:

DTS .WAV played in plain foobar2000 => noise (no way to know it's DTS encoded, no way to decode it).
DTS .WAV played with the foo_input_dts component and the decoder DSP active => proper 5.1 sound (the file is originally played as noise, but then the DSP sees it's a DTS signal and processes it on-the-fly).
.DTSWAV played with the foo_input_dts component => proper 5.1 sound (this file extension is registered by the foo_input_dts component directly, it's decoded from the start).

Similarly for converting:

DTS .WAV converted to .FLAC in plain foobar2000 => noise.
DTS .WAV converted to .FLAC with the foo_input_dts component and the decoder DSP active in the Converter settings dialog => proper 5.1 sound.
.DTSWAV converted to .FLAC with the foo_input_dts component => proper 5.1.

Do you see some kind of a different behaviour?
Full-quoting makes you scroll past the same junk over and over.

Thanks
The convertion works.
I was not being able to convert for .flac and (magically  ) now I managed to convert.
