Windows 7 Build 7100 RC - WASAPI not working

Hello, foobar user here. In Windows 7 RC wasapi is not working, giving error with standard buffer lenght, and playing noise with low <200ms buffer lenght.

Problem can be fixed?

Thank you.

I forgot, Using RME HDSP 9632 with latest Win7 compatible Drivers

on Vista64 it was working flawlessly.

Hello Peter, Thank you for your reply.

I take this opportunity to ask you about another problem related to the 9632 and ASIO Plugin in Wasapi. The problem is related to the Sample Rate Change when playing different sample rate tracks.

The 9632 HDSP Driver dinamically adjusts the number of ADAT channels when sample rate changes, in 9632 case is 8 channels 44.1/48 - 4 channels 96 - 2 channels 192

Let's take you I am playing a 44.1 track, then i switch to a 96/192 one. No problem till here. But at the next track (of whatever samplerate) it notices the change of available channels and say:

Unrecoverable playback error: Device has 4 output channels, expected 12 (example passing from 44.1 to 192)

Only thing I can do is set directsound to reset the card and number of channels to the needed sample rate and set again Asio, annoying!

Can you help me?

Marco

Any news regarding this issue?
I too have it in Windows 7 RC and right now I am using ASIO - which due to shitty drivers for my ESI card is stuttering constantly regardless of buffer size or foobar priority..

Thanks for looking into this!

I'm also unable to output through WASAPI. Setting the buffer below 500 ms doesnt help. Playback starts but is stuck at 0:00. I have Infrasonic Quartet Envy24 based sound card.

Has there been a diagnosis of the change in the RC which caused WASAPI to be b0rked? Even if the fix still requires more time to be fully baked, it will be interesting to know its cause. Thanks!

Would it be possible to modify Foobar's output section to go down to as low as 1 ms of buffer length?
