Tags made by dbpoweramp doesn't show in Mp3tag or MediaMonkey

Hi,

I decided to try MM, but the Flac files I have that dbpoweramp has tagged when ripping does not display any tags at all. Foobar displays the tags correctly as well as Squeezecenter. How can I make MM read these?

Thanks

Mp3tag reads the vorbis tags in flac files just fine for me.  There's an issue with "album artist" but otherwise its great.

When I hover the files that MM does not read it says ID3v2.3(ANSI). Is this not supported?

it sounds like you have configured flac files to write id3 tags, when they should be writing vorbis tags.

Id3 tags are not standard for flac, tho some applications may read them anyway.

try Start > dbpower amp music converter > configuration > dbpoweramp configuration

from the configuration dialog > click codecs tab > click advanced options (bottom of screen) > check flac id tagging: tag creation (should be vorbis comments)

Thanks, Tekno! Now, how do I automagically transform all the ID3-tags to Vorbis comments? I've ripped a lot of CDs with this erroneous setting.

musicbrainz picard tagger has an option to remove id3 tags from flac, but it is not really a large batch processing app, better suited to a dozen or so albums at a time, and it will update with musicbrainz metadata, not the existing metadata.

foobar can do it. Use the rewrite tags command or apply a tag change. I think it always converts ID3v2 tags to Vorbis/FLAC comments on a tag write -- at least I couldn't find any setting that would preserve the ID3v2 tags.

Change the setting in dBpoweramp Configuration back to Vorbis Comments, then install the '[update id tag]' utlity codec, in batch converter select all your flac files (one click at the root directory) and convert to [update id tag], only the tags are updated, the flac files are not re-encoded.
