Where's lame.exe

Now, I tried all possible combinations of words to search on google but could not find the answer.

Where the hell is lame.exe in the latest lame MP3 encoder?

I could not find it if my life depended on it - it's just not in the file that they provide on their website.

i've been to this site before but did not take a second look because it is unofficial.

i usually only trust files form official sites.

Is the file in the rarewares site the same as the one in the official lame site? If so, why is there no lame.exe in the file provided at the official lame site?

thanks

I think it's to do with Intellectual Property, patents and similar stuff. LAME = Lame Ain't an MP3 Encoder, I think, and there's a reason for that name beyond hackerish delight in recursion. The official site offers source code.

Rarewares is totally kosher.

All these remarks are subject to correction when someone who *really* knows comes along, though Rarewares will remain entirely trustworthy.

The name is a little tongue-in-cheek, but then
1) it looks too clean and professional to be a warez site
2) it is spelt "rarewares", not "rarewarez".

When you explore other codecs, you'll find all their bundles there too. This link (http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Download_page) is on the front page of HA.org, by the way.
