Hey, guyz !
Wait a moment !

I think the best way to help is to submit infos @ Vorbis.com website (even if i think that a link indexing script could help)

To Vorbis zealots: keep in touch with they have an interesting project that aims to make Vorbis a legal share format of choice, even for majors !)

Some Suggestions, questions etc.

Pretorians (http://www.praetoriansgame.com) use Ogg Vorbis 1.0 Q=4.

IMHO Ogg Vorbis _IS_ standard... for game industry only (for now). I don`t think game makers will switch to MP4 since they will (probably) have to pay for using MP4 in games like now - they pay for using mp3/mp3PRO. More than 1/2 of relases use Ogg Vorbis, i think.

PS. This music from Pretorians is... very nice :)

There's quite a bit of Speex stuff in here, but not enough to give it it's own forum I think.

While I agree that Speex doesn't need its own forum, I think that a "speech" forum would be a good idea.

Speech would be quite useless too, IMO. Besides Speex, there are few (or no) speech codecs of interest to this community. I rarely saw anyone discussing Acelp.net, g729, Qualcomm PureVoice or MPEG4 CELP.

I still vote for an "Other Formats" forum, where codecs like WMA, Real Audio, Speex, ATRAC, ePAC, etc. could be discussed.

Regards;

Roberto.

@cobra

Do they still use the RC2 at 64kbps for Unreal 2 like in UT2003?

In UT2004 they use:
Quote
bitrate = 132
channels = 2
samplerate = 44100
bitrate_nominal = 128
codec = Vorbis
vorbis_vendor = Xiphophorus libVorbis I 20010813
vorbis_version = 1.0 RC2

COMMENT = Sonic Foundry OggVorbis Beta 3

EDIT: some files are ~64kbps, some ~96kbps, some ~128kbps

Some Suggestions, questions etc.
