Dear friends of aacPlus (aka HE-AAC),

Coding Technologies recently launched a dedicated developers area under www.codingtechnologies.com/cgi-bin/developer.pl where you have the possibility to download our aacPlus Decoder Check Package for free. This package allows you to very easily test the aacPlus capabilities of any decoder. Feel free to use this package to detect your music players capabilities. In return Coding Technologies is interested in receiving your feedback and test results which may help us to improve the quality of aacPlus enabled devices.

I can't find it in the manual, but the file4.mp4 has PS explicitly turned off in the AudioSpecificConfig even though it does hold the PS data in the stream.
I assume this is a special test case to see if decoders properly support the ps_present_flag?

Hello Menno,

thanks a lot your your feedback. It was not the intention of File4.mp4 to check the decoder wrt. this PS signalling feature. I just fixed this file and uploaded the fixed version of the whole package to our server.

Good to see you posting here.  As a note, Winamp will play 3GP files (audio portion only) if you add the extension to Preferences->Input->Nullsoft MPEG-4 Audio Decoder->(double click)

Hi Ben,

as you know for sure, aacPlus is a very flexible format which comes with different file formats, signalling flavours and so on. For that reason we put together this package. It allows to easily find out which flavour of the AAC/HE-AAC family is supported by a certain player.

I hope this package has a value for many people in Hydrogenaudio. Are you aware of other forums that discuss AAC/HE-AAC?
