Battery life for Apple 60gig w/ Rock Box useing FLAC

I used to have an Iaudio X5L with the extended life battery that was supposed to last a day and a half. Since I use FLAC files it would last about 3/4 of a day instead. It got stolen and now I want to get an Apple Ipod and flash it with the Rock Box firmware. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of battery life I could expect with it useing FLAC files?
Cowon Iaudio X5 30 gig. It rocks!

It wouldn't be very good as FLAC files are larger and Rockbox doesn't currently use the iPod to its full potential.  The 5G 60GB iPod is slated to get about 20 hours of audio battery life when using lossy files.  Apple conducted their "tests" using the iTunes AAC encoder at 128kbps with the average song length being about 4 minutes.  My library consists of Nero encoded VBR AAC files at q 0.45 which produces bitrates of about 150kbps-160kbps VBR.  I get about 22-23 hours out of my 5G 60GB iPod.

Anyway, I think the 5G 60GB iPod will get about 15-18 hours when using the Rockbox firmware to play lossy files.  The Rockbox firmware doesn't have the ability to throttle down the iPod's processor so more juice is used.  The 5G 60GB iPods get about 15 hours of playback time when using Apple Lossless files, so that shows you how much lossless files reduce the battery.  Taking all that into consideration, I would presume that you would get around 10-13 hours of FLAC playback when using the Rockbox firmware.

I don't have Rockbox installed so I can't really vouch for the validity of my statement.  I am just giving you a personal estimate until someone posts back with their actual numbers.
