Mp3 or AAC+ for W810i cel phone?

Hi guys....i wanna transcode my mp3s (256kbps, big files) to 64 or 96kbps at maximum to fit on my 512mb memory stick of my W810i....which is the best way to get better quality on such thing??

This cel phone supports aac, aac+ but not aac+ v2, someone told me aac+ is better than mp3 at same bitrate, its right?? So im thinking something about aac+ with 64kbps or 80kbps Abr....what do you think??

I want the best quality possible with small files....mp3 or aac+ in this case??

Thanks for any help

Eduardo

Use the wiki Luke.
(Specifically follow the listening test link at the bottom.)

And to answer your question, yes, AACplus will be better at 64kbps.

Since you're concerned about quality VBR is clearly the best choice. Using Nero's encoder the "-q 0.25" switch will result in average bitrates around 64 kbps, with HE-AAC being automatically used instead of LC-AAC.

Another option would be to encode to LC-AAC VBR with an average bitrate of around 96 kbps ("-q 0.34"). AAC without SBR isn't as power-consuming as HE-AAC, causing the battery to survive a little longer. Of course that depends on how often you wanna listen to music on your cel phone - if you're a casual listener, then forget about LC-AAC, otherwise think about it as a reasonable alternative.
