ogg vorbis can't encode

i've tried using both beta 4.51 and beta 4 versions.  basically what happens is i'll put in the cd, it'll read it fine, but the black box never pops up.  after the cd is done ripping the songs, all the files remain unaltered wav files.  i'm using this: http://users.pandora.be/satcp/eac-qs-en.htm#introduction guide.  any suggestions?  thanks.

Funkdeal: I assume you are using the aoTuV CLI encoders? IIRC aoTuV CLI encoders are named oggenc2.exe.

Have you renamed the file to oggenc.exe? Thus the configuration as shown by the page you referred to will work.

Alternatively, change the configuration to oggenc2.exe instead of oggenc.exe.

I suggest you download from the rarewares site. And if you have the need for speed, check out Lancer suite in this site.

OT: LOL, for MP3, the page went good -> very good -> very good -> best. For Vorbis it went very good -> extreme good -> fantastic

Edit: minor typo, add links to rw and lancer

thanks for the reply.  i'm still new to all of this, so a lot of your post confused me.  i should be renaming the files?  i downloaded the files straight from the aotuv site.  thanks.

Hm. I suggest downloading from the two sites I mentioned in my post. Download esp. the oggenc archives (actually oggenc2). Extract oggenc2.exe into the EAC directory, and either (1) rename it into oggenc.exe (no harm), or (2) when configuring EAC, specify it to use oggenc2.exe instead of oggenc.exe.

Please tell what happened.
