Adding Album Art to AAC/MP4 files?

About six months ago I decided to back up my entire CD Collection to prevent furhter lo$$e$. Under this forum's  guidance, I decided FLAC was the way to go. Two months ago I had the chance of buying an iPod Photo very cheap. Inmediately I began to trancode my FLAC files to MP4 using Foobar (Nero Q7 preset) and loading them into my iPod.  Now I am wondering if there's an easy way to add Album Art to them.

If you're using iTunes to transfer songs from your computer to your iPod, then you'd have to tag the album art within iTunes. iTunes controls the database that the iPod reads from, and the album art is provided by this same database. It's not stored in the individual songs' tags.

If you're using foobar's foo_pod plugin, I'm not entirely sure how it works, because I've not used it.

Actually when you add album art to AAC files using iTunes it does right the album art to the file's tag.  I have deleted my iTunes database files and the album art remained on my files.  Each song is tagged with the album art of its album.

Since I'm converting to AAC/MP4 all my CD's that I had previously backed up to FLAC, I don't have Cover Art . As far as I know Flac doesn't store Album Art. I just don't want to re-rip my CD Collection again. It's not a funny thing to do. Besides, I don't use iTunes rip my CD's or my iPod. As a matter of fact, I don't use iTunes at all. It's not even installed on my PC, but that's another story...

Wow. You're absolutely right. I use Mp3tag to tag all my music, and whenever I tagged cover art using it, it never transferred over to iTunes (I had to re-add it). If I recall correctly, I'd add cover art within iTunes, and Mp3tag wouldn't show it. I just double-checked, and Mp3tag now shows the cover art that was added within iTunes.

Well, if you're trying to add album art to FLAC, I don't believe it'll happen (as you correctly guessed). I usually store the album art in the same directory as the FLAC files when I archive my music.

Tag&Rename will add artwork to MP4 and .m4a AAC files.  There's even an option to change the extensions to .m4a.
