Is there a true All in One Solution

First of all, great forum...I've browsed it in the past whenever I got stuck on an issue and finally decided to sign up.

I've been out of the ripping scene for almost 10 years now (used to fool with the RNS and aPC crew) and find myself out of date on all fronts.

I have tried a multitude of tools, and have finally settled on EAC+Lame as my preferred method of ripping.  The thing I'm lacking though is the integration of Cover Art.

I have recently bought a ReadyNas and have communicated to all my friends that I will be expecting them to rip everything they can get their hands on in order to replace all my old 128 collection with a higher quality rip.  I want one CONSISTENT collection complete with .m3u, correct tag format, and the Album cover art.  Since I, and most of my friends are semi-braindamaged...I am looking for the absolute easiest way of accomplishing this.

I would really welcome any tips.
P.S. I am fine with the sound of the EAC+Lame rip with Hydrongen Settings...I don't need lossless.

Have a look at REACT.

It is a plugin tool for EAC that (among a lot of other things) can add album art to your files. Configurations are stored in batch files. Select the one that suits you best or modify it to fit your needs.

Once you have configured it right, it's just a push on the button to start the process and run completely.

Cheers!

Thanks for the tip.  I'll try it out tonight

REACT is a great tool, that can do all you ever wanted without thinking twice.  It is also neat that it configures EAC for you.

However, if you truly as newbie as you say you are, Than I recommend you start with MAREO.  It does the same basic stuff as REACT, (Although REACT is more powerful) but it is small, very well documented, and I found to be much more easy to deal with and understand when I first started with the idea.

However, no matter what you do, you will need to decide on a bitrate that you are happy with.  If you plan on using MP3, and space is not that much of an issue, The general recommendation on these forums is to use VBR 2 or VBR 3, which are the lower ends of "Near transparancies".  [Yes, I am aware that  many will object to this statement, but if you read enough, you will see that VBR2 is recommend by the most people, including the great Gabriel.]

The big plus of also creating a lossless file, as well as the mp3, is that you have a backup that can then be uncompressed if you ever need to rerip the mp3s, and it does not take as much space.  Either of the above mentioned tools will take care of converting to lossless as well as to mp3 in the same automated pass, so it takes no more work from your end.

If all you wish to do is find quick and easy dirty tools, don't rule out LameDrop as the easiest tool for creating MP3s. (Or oggdrop for oggs).

Lastly, once you are feeling comfortable, you should know about things such as Tangerne's Catwalk that do the ripping overnight.  Or Multifront, that handles evertything from a diffrent package.

Good Luck, and welcome!
