One thing: Now they split the one plugin into a linein part and a CD-reading part. Once these features were combined.

The other thing: The new HE-AAC v2 plugin still produces raw AAC streams with MP3 tags. It seems that the AOL legal team could still not be convinced to believe that HE-AAC in a MP4 container DOES not require additional mpeg-4 licences.

Are you serious? Sheesh, I've been wondering what was up with the ID3 tags, if that is what they indeed are (been wondering myself). I've turned tagging off for now, and use the tool in foobar to put AAC streams into a proper tag compatible container which foobar 0.9 reads properly (masstagger's tag copy feature sure helps when doing this). Not that there is much point to this at the moment other than compatibility testing though.

Has anybody identified any difference from the "leaked" beta 3 ?
My conspiracy theory is that AOL wants tagging abilities crippled so that people will despair at the effort and buy files online that have been tagged. That accords with the disgracefully inaccurate and inept tagging information from Gracenote.

Winamp now takes up 160-170 megs of RAM - for me - using classic skin and no add-ons...

Thanks to foobar I can now keep my playlist large and not deal with a laggy computer. woohoo!

Some plug-in you are using has a very serious memory leak. I'm using 5.1 with classic skin as well, and it hardly ever goes past 10Mb. Often it's around 4-6Mb

Is there a specific way to enable the "surround" thing, or is it enabled by default and I haven't noticed it???
