I just noticed that in the Get Info window under the Options tab there is an option called "Remember Playback Position". That'll come in handy for podcasts!

There is a type of AAC called "Bookmarkable AAC". iTunes and the iPods have supported this type for quite a while, allowing people to resume Audio books from the iTMS. In iTunes 4.9, they added this feature to MP3 files (Im sure iTunes just saves the last playback position in a file) for podcasts. This feature is now configurable on files other then Podcasts and iTMS Audio Books.

Anything else?

yeah, iTunes still can't multitask:
if you're playing an album/playlist & start poking around elsewhere in iTunes so that the focus is no longer on the playing album/playlist, it won't continue playing the album/playlist at the end of the song.

You might want to try opening the playlist/album in a new window (something people seem surprised that iTunes can do) and then 'poke around' in the original window. I've not tried it but I can't think why it wouldn't work.

d'oh!
turns out you can only open a 2nd window if it's in the 'Source' column.

Reading that article just brought tears into my eyes

When I first saw how thin but long it was, my first reaction was that it would be susceptible to breaking or snapping length-wise like a biscuit - say you had the nano half sticking out of your jeans hip pocket and then suddenly did some squats.

I have had one for about 5days and treated it with the UTMOST care, yet even handling it with kid-gloves, there are scratches on the front? It seems like breathing on the black face will scratch the little thing? I can't imagine what it's going to look like after a few months, probably like the picture after they ran over it with their car? But it IS nice to now the thing 'll be playin no matter how many scratches it gets! I just won't plan on trying to read the display

A bunch of stability fixes. Apparently some users were having problems with iTunes freezing.

All iPods are vulnerable to scratching.  My 4G iPod has scratches everywhere (except on the grey clickwheel).  But there are criticisms on the nano's screen cracking:

it's a shame they gave up the mini
--alt-presets are there for a reason! These other switches DO NOT work better than it, trust me on this.

On the "remember playback position" (an excellent feature I've been moaning about this for years: one of the features that fell by the wayside in the transition from tapes to digital media), I have a question.

Is it possible to make <every> song in one's <entire> library have this feature? When selecting multiple files, the tab for setting it disappears! Any ideas?
