Removing album art

This may sound silly , but I added album art to some cds, and while it's cool on ipod photo, it's unneccessary space (i'd rather have non-attached album covers in the photo section of my iPod than have album art tagged to every song -- or at least a lot of them). how do i mass remove tags (want it to wipe any album covers in id3v2 in my music dir)? thanks guys

edit - i'd like to re-iterate, i wanna keep the v2 tags just NOT the album art stuffed in there

Use "The GodFather" see my signature.

Browse to the directory in which the files you want to strip the pictures from reside.
click on tag->select "Batch Jobs"->"Lyrics & Pictures"->click Pictures->choose to delete or export pictures found in the tags.

press start.

Finished :-) That was easy, wasn't it?

If you use iTunes, just get info on the files and check the album art box.

Since each cover is usually less than 100kb, it shouldn't use that much space on your huge iPod photo though

yea i just figured out the iTUNES thing , that godfather program didn't strip it of its album art... oh well, my puter can not be used right now , this operation is sucking up all my RAM and cpu %

thanks all! yea, it's only 100kb , but I don't like how its tagged to each mp3 , it adds about a MB or 2 to each album I have (it can add up), that and i'd rather just have them detached in their own folder for viewing on my leisure time -- that and it sucks up the battery more because the hd has to spin up more to load up the album art -- that and , the thumbnail doesn't look that great on a small scale for most artwork . DONE! haha
