Compression failures

I am ripping with EACpb95 and compressing with LAME 3.96.  In some rips there are WAV files which for some reason LAME does not compress.

I was running the compression routines concurrrently with the rips.  Then I rippped the same CD just to WAV files and after the rip was finished I then ran the compression in a single thread: same result!  Same WAV files not compressed.

How can I determine why these compressions are failing?  It is the same with 3.96 and the 3.97a.

if you call lame.exe from the command shell, is there any message written when you try to encode one of your problem samples?

All - It is not LAME.  It is EAC.  I ran a test of EAC ripping and compressing simultaneously, ripping and compressing serially and ripping in one step and compressing with RazorLame.  The RazorLame test did all the compressions correctly.  The others failed.

It seems that EAC has a problem with the long titles associated with classical music with a series of subdirectories.  I have passed the info on in the EAC group on Yahoo and hope the developr, Andre, can fix it.

Thanks.
