Nero encoded aac files still have ipod trouble?

I have read as many posts as I can about this and I am wondering if the
'fixes' that the Nero people were saying that apple is supposed to making have been made.

I wanna use EAC to FLAC and then dbpoweramp to nero AAC, but I am doing this for my dad and I wanna make certain the nero AAC files aren't going to cause reboots or lockups.

Also, I wish that I could buy just the nero AAC encoder and not the whole package because I am only going to be using it for the encoder.

Yes, I believe people reported that it worked fine with the latest iPod firmware upgrade.

I can confirm that the latest Ipod update resolves all issues i was experienceing WRT Nero AAC.

It occured to me that it would actually be cheaper (or roughly the same price) to buy a cd-r drive and the OEM version of NERO 6 than it would to buy NERO 6.

Isn't that correct?

That's true, but your OEM version might miss some features. But I think (not sure!) that the AAC encoder is always included.

Sorry to beat a dead horse here, but am I correct in thinking that I can now use nencode with EAC and encode directly to Nero AAC without having to unwrap the AAC from the Nero MP4 wrapper and then rewrap with the iTunes M4A wraper?

Currently I am ripping to WAV with EAC, compressing with Monkey's Audio (to be able to tag), then using foobar2000 to convert to AAC, adding replaygain, then uploading to my iPod with foo_pod.  This would help some.  I would still need to use foobar2000 to add replaygain so that foo_pod can upload with album gain instead of iTunes' track only gain.

Which would be the best most efficient choice now?

Is there some reason to use the itunes mp4 container over the Nero one?  I haven't noticed any trouble with Nero's.  I'd probably rip+encode with EAC, replaygain and upload with foobar.

I believe it's always included, but at some license levels it's limited in the number of encodes it can do.  The OEM version of 5.5 I had was limited to 50 encodes, but the Nero 6 OEM suite I got with my newest burner has unlimited AAC encoding.
