You can compress all you like but Nero Express is inside Nero.exe no miracles there, so the distribution you propose cannot happen as things are right now.

Ahead would not consider to fix bugs that they should ( check the ASPI + SATA RAID problem thread link I posted ) and you expect to break Nero apart ?

I expect that they use SPTI like they should ,it is an NT world we live in, but hey I do not expect miracles

A better solution would be to include image drive and Cover Designer at the basic package simply because people use them along with the main burning app. ( fewer people use the toolkit)

BackIt up can go along with the wave editing and SoundTrax apps. I am not sure and I do not want to test if Nero can do all the things it can do with audio CD's without the sound editing apps, maybe Nero uses common dll's for that so you end up having a bigger package than you initially though.

Any way the best way to go is to supply incremental patches for users on slow connection. I really don't care if I have to wait a bit more and even if Ahead supplied patches I would download the full installation.

Another thing we did not think of is the long term marketing plan, maybe Ahead wants us to download all the extra apps so they can slowly become the de facto standard.

toolkit does not weights more than 2 mb .... people that uses image drive and Cover Designer could download the other packages ... what does BackIt has to do with wave editing and SoundTrax apps?? i tried to make them more related ... i also agree that ahead should provide incremtal upgrades though

This must be why the size is so different from 5.5.10.54 > 5.5.10.56.

(keeping in mind that is decompressed)
I'd assume that these are now with 6.3.1.6 also.

Maybe we'll have to contact the author of Kazaa Lite to see if he's interested in Nero Lite

Now, seriously, I think that Ahead should at least give us the option of a "Custom" installation, so you can install only the components you want.

Why doesn't Ahead do this like most other apps?

Hi again,

Well, a "Nero Lite" program would be illegal (like Kazaa Lite). But, what about something like DietK.com for Nero ?

It would be great to have a program that lets you delete all the components of Nero that you don't want, and also lets you dissociate its file types and unregister its directshow filters.

If such a program had a backup option to reverse the changes, and also a detailed log to see what has happend, it would be wonderful!!

Anyone willing to do it? I think it would be very useful!

Hi!

I got problems when I updated to this latest Nero version:

The mp4 movie files I encoded (5.1HE-aac, with subtitles, like I always do) with the previous version of Recode2 and played with the previous Showtime really fine.... are now MUTE when I try to play those same files with the latest Showtime.

Anyone else, please test if this a bug or something else? No change in hardware configuration or anything, divx-movies play with sound, like usual....

Any Ahead Nero users out there build a DVD (NeroVision Express2)
with ac3 for the audio? On two computers with different operating systems
I get the source clip's left audio channel coming out both the right
and left speakers, when I play the Nero encoded DVD video.
The original right channel is completely gone.
Most of the time the two channels are pretty similar, so you have to
listen carefully, or, use a clip with obviously different right and
left channels. Nero 6.3.1.6 NeroVision Express2 2.1.2.0
