Coolplayer V204 Released

Includes the following fixes, and improvements, including the fatal error with Win95.

CoolPlayer - Blazing fast audio player.
Features: Skins, Simple user interface, Playlist editor, Internet streaming, File Renamer, Fast mp3->wav converter, Smallest executable, Continuous play (no pause between tracks), programmed in C.

CoolPlayer uses the MAD MP3 decoder engine for
maximum MP3 playing quality.

   + Totally new playlist system (with too much changed to say here!)
   + Totally new "find" system
   + New (much faster) ID3 tag reading
   + New (much faster) M3U reading
   + Now supports Title entry in PLS files
   + Removed "not implemented" message from stream  open
   + Fixed problem with Win95
   + Fixed problem where the play engine can get bogged down (with endless opens)
   + Fixed hang in streaming if server opens connection but does not send any data
   + Playlist column sequence is now saved in the ini file
   + Fixed occasional lockup in DirectSound output
   + Playlists can now handle UNC files

would be much better if new files would be supported in the open window when having some winamp plugins installed

yep, I agree.  I've already written to one of the worker bees and he said documentation is coming for how to use Winamp plugins.  Hopefully the next version, will have configuration settings in the main window, or something like that.  They are aware they have a long way to go.  :confused:

There are a number of nice looking skins for available for Coolplayer, maybe it might make sense to use a different one as the default skin. Might attract more users if the first thing they see is an awesome looking player as opposed to the so-so looking one it's had for the longest time.

i do agree on the default skin to be changed, its true that skins are pretty much useless stuff, but most people will be temped to try a program if, for starters, it looks good, after all you dont know how good a program is until you actually try it, and to be honest the default look of CoolPlayer is a big turn off.
