According to the Winamp developers, Winamp 5 should be able to use the same Plugs that worked well with Winamp 2.xx and Winamp 3 ... just try it out and report if it works.

Look for a winamp 2 plugin instead - they're compatible with wa5.

0.99alpha from here should work just fine.

Winamp 5 does NOT support Winamp3 components(the wa3 name for plugins).  It supports Winamp 2 styled plugins, and Winamp 2 and Winamp3 skins.  But if you have a component that was designed for Winamp3, it will NOT work in Winamp 5.  You should, if you happen to need the feature provided by a component, contact the author to see if a Winamp 2/5 version is available or planned.

This topic interest me cause i had the same question than supermotarnaldo

I tried to install winamp 2 plug-in...
and I can report it didn't work on my computer.

I downloaded the plug-in at the following url :
ca5e home page

I guess i didn't make any mistake during the "easy" installation steps (just click and give winamp5 folder) but I don't think so.

Now i just have to wait if anybody know another way to read MPC on winamp 5

See you.

I can confirm that that plugin works in Winamp 5. I have been using it for a few months now, with only one hitch: I have noticed a bug in the library where new tags do not always get written for MPC files when you use the masstagger.

Can you tell us what you mean by "doesn't work"? Does it not load the plug-in? Does it crash? Does it refuse to decode files?

2 - the track can be see in my playlist
but :
3 - when i try to lauch the track it wait a few second and switch to the following (a .mp3 file)

note : my winamp version is 5.0(x86)

Oh yeah.... I'm just a great rookie

I forgot to select the format MPC in my winamp options

So, conclusion the MPC plug-in for winamp 2 works reallly.

See you.
