I have seen this same problem and would also be happy for sulution to this or some information, whether it would be by some means possible...
(now or in future version(s) )

With eccdax and iTunes all goes fine, but Neros conversion / filename generation is limited by Tags (and it cannot create new subdirectories with "Encode Files" / Target Directory - It has to be created manually before browsing to it...)

Yes it does rip on the fly. But you can always rip to wav and later encode using the "Encode files..." dialog.

//EDIT menno was faster than me
You can (with Nero) select Extras / Save Tracks and select to PCM (wavs) !
Then select Extras / Encode Files and make whatever is possible out of those 48 kHz Wavs with good quality.

This one Can be done at Easy CD-Da extractor too

//EDIT : Here's a good and FAST tip for Easy CD-Da Extractor users :
Sometimes i want to make good quality VBR mp3's and at the same time AAC-files as .mp4's from those original .wavs!
1. i first rip into Standard Wav's and in the advanced section put cross "Run external command for each tracks".
(I copied latest Stable Lame.exe from link here and put it into the eccdax's main directory...)
2. Now i set Lame parameters as following :

LAME.EXE --quiet -m a --vbr-new -V 1 -b 128 -B 256 -F <filename1> <filename2>.mp3

...to get enough good guality VBR MP3's and i'm not checking the options "Wait command to complete" and "Delete output file" at this point !
3. The batch conversion goes just fine and all the ID3v2 and v1 Tags are there after that external Lame.exe output !!
4. After the Wav's are ripped at ~32x speed the main app stops, but the Lame's (Cmd) windows keep on popping until the last wav is encoded...
5. At the same time i go to Audio File Converter tab and drag all the produced Wav's there and begin to convert them to same folder as ~128 kbps mp4's Faac-preset (LC) at the same time checking the option "delete source file after successfull conversion" !! (to get rid of the wavs if not needed anymore...)
6. Now i have at that dir the mp3's and the mp4's just like i wanted (and the Wavs if so wanted - if one wants to make Audio-CD in the third tab)

//NOTE : Also those MP4's are well tagged - the only info that's missing is the total number of tracks - so it shows 1 of 0 - 12 of 0 ...!

Summarum : the process i explained here may sound a bit terrible, but at least it's multithreaded and in it's best it does 3 tasks at same time and the final time to get all done is for me about 5 minutes with 60 min CD ...

P.S. Menno : Did Your answer mean that both tagging AND Folder creating will be available at next version?

That's great news--by next "version" do you mean update or when 6.xx is replaced? -James

Once more, if You passed this one by ...

Did Your quoted answer mean that both tagging AND Folder creating will be available at next version of Nero Release with File Conversion (I suppose it would be 6.0.0.28) ?

Also would there be (in time) more to select in the Settings Dialog (AAC) like Lowpass Audio @ xxxx Hz, Volume Scaling, Audio Resampling, Downmix for multichannel Audio, Encoder Priority and maybe Mode Normal for Encoder Quality between Fast and High ...?

//Note : this is my most important question here :

Then is the Ripping Part (Extras / Save Tracks). It is OK and fast and easy at every single point but i (and suppose many others too) are still missing one thing to the "File Name Creation Method" / "Use Desired" :
- I can now put there my songs like i wish - %N - %A - %T.%E, but it would be a "Super" to set like this :
%A - %B - %Y\%N - %A - %T.%E

To get Folder / Filenames like :
Madonna - American Life - 2003\02 - Madonna - Hollywood.mp4 - etc....

- The missing %B would stand for "Album Name" and the %Y for "Year Released", which comes from CDDB (only %Y is missing sometimes, so there should be an option to set it by own..)

I know this is much to Ask and would make Nero to sound more like a Ripper, but why not? A good app with good extras would make it more atractive for consumers to buy, when it would be (in importancy order) a centralized (Multi)Burner with good CD/DVD/(S)VCD creation options / Ripper / File Converter.

After all this (small) missing bits it would be much better than Easy CD-Da Extractor, because of the superior Burning / Iso-Handling / Virtual-Drive functions and NeroNet etc ..//EDIT and for G's shake these two apps are not comparable to each others at all - Nero has most functions for general burner and eccdax is only dedicated for audio..!

I meant writing the track number  (in next version of Nero AAC plugin, not next version of Nero  )

About the folder creation, I'm not sure, I already requested some things to be fixed in the naming scheme once. Some of that already got changed.

OK menno - that means that "things are moving forwards" at my point-outs too to the right direction...

In a meanwhile when you first read it i edited a bit my post and said that Nero and Easy CD-Da Extractor are by no means competitors - Nero is much more (just lacking few things to get even with ecdax in that single point...)

Best luck for good AAC (and some more options + save / load presets maybe...)
