Ogg to NetMD?

Not to my knowledge.  However, the FAQ at minidisc.org has a solution for MP3 -> MD that doesn't use OpenMG Jukebox.  It uses Nero instead, and I THINK Nero supports Ogg Vorbis.  However, since I don't have Nero, I cannot confirm this.

Yes there is more than one way to go from Vorbis to NetMD.

The program is called M3U2SB, and can be found HERE.

This program takes mp3 and vorbis files, decodes them into wavs, and then feeds them to SimpleBurner as a virtual CD image, either using Nero or Daemon Tools. (The latter is freeware, but both work just as well.) SimpleBurner then encodes and records the tracks onto your MD, complete with titles based on the original mp3 and vorbis tags.

You must have a working copy of Sony's SimpleBurner for this to work, which you will either have received with your NetMD unit, or you can download it from various places on the web.

It certainly works quite well, as a one program solution.

Or, you can use foobar to take all of your tunes in any format, and get it to write them as replaygained wavs, with the track titles as file names. Then import these wavs onto your NetMD player via either Sonicstage or OpenMG jukebox. If you maintain your replaygain info, etc, you end up with a nice disc with all the tracks of consistent volume, and titles.

I personally use the second approach, recording mixtures of Wavpack, mp3, mpc and vorbis files onto MD.  B)

If you need more detailed instructions, I can probably post something in more detail.

Hope this helps

Den.

Once you have the .wav files I think it's easier to use RealOne rather than SonicStage to transfer your files onto your MD. There are no DRM hurdles to jump with the RealOne plugin.

It's up to the individual. I personally use OpenMG, as Sonicstage is extremely unstable on my PC. Realone is slightly better than Sonicstage, but not as rock solid for NetMD transfers as OpenMG with my particular combination of hardware/software.

Also DRM doesn't come into it. We're talking transferring decoded wav files here. I always delete them from my HD afterwards anyway, so DRM concerns are irrelevant to me. I literally jump in to OpenMG to convert the wavs to ATRAC, transfer them to my MD, delete the wavs and get out.  B)
