Using DivX players for music

Does anybody have experience with music listening through vid/DivX players?  I was awed by the total experience in that freeby from DivX, "The Hunt."  I think I now have settled on BSPlayer as my favorite player, though GlobalDivX and little SamiPlayer seem competent.  BSPlayer sounds fine playing the few WMAs I encoded with dbPowerAmp, but has lotsa distortion with MP3s and won't recognize MPCs.  I spent last night installing umpteen weird dlls from servers in Poland, Hungary, Taiwan, etc.  I also reverted to that famous older version of MPG4C32. I've not tried WinAmp 3 (am guessing it is supposed to be all-in-one, incl. DivX), but I'm reluctant to move there because of the Big Brother corporate affiliations.
You guys (+girls) know everything...would appreciate your feedback!

Nah... Winamp is clean. No spywares, no ads, no limitations... It's as good as it gets being a closed source freeware.

k, I installed WinAmp 3 b3 + Peter's Power Pack.  I was kinda surprised that it played the Taiwanese music video avi files in addition to a wmv, but, though it showed The Hunt as a supported format file, nothing happens.  I'm wondering if this being a DivX 5 ad-supported file has something to do with it...or has everyone else been enjoying this chase movie?

That's the gist of a reply to a querying e-mail.  But, some around the project think it would be better that BSPlayer be #1 in video and let WinAmp be #1 in music.  I gotta say I saw nothing so hot about WinAmp 3 video playback.

Expect PowerDivx4 to come out soon. The alpha tests are very impressive so far with playlist and EQ features.

When released to the public it most likely will have a different name though. I'm sure it will be announced.
