Fresh install, tracks not playing

Hi, I just installed foobar2000 for Mac and my tracks are not playing.

Attached is i screenshot of what I see. If I double click a track I get no playback but foobar shows the album art. I have tried changing audio outputs and unplugging all devices so it's just the macbook on its own but this doesn't seem to be an audio issue as the playback itself is failing to start.

Does anyone have advice on how to resolve this issue?

Thank you

I'm not a Mac user, but it looks like you have Album List on the left and an empty playlist on the right. You are supposed to populate the tracks you want to currently play into the playlist.
Perhaps the Mac defaults are the same as on Windows and double click of an album only expands or collapses its branch and double clicking a track does nothing. These defaults may be a leftover from the time where Library Selection Viewer was enabled by default.

I believe right clicking is a foreign concept on Mac, but you should see options to send or add files to current or new playlist when you right click anything on Album List. For example if you right click on the "A Grand Don't Come for Free" album, you can send it to the playlist. Then you can double click a track on the playlist to play it. And when you have tracks on a playlist, the bottom Play button works too.

At least on Windows you can fully configure how Album List behaves. If you enable Library Selection Viewer, a single click on Album List is enough to populate a playlist with your selection. It's very simple if right clicking isn't wanted, but also very temporary as the old list instantly disappears if you click somewhere else. My favorite option is to have double click send selection to a new playlist. That way nothing gets erased but usage is still fast. And it's easy to manually remove a playlist when I'm done with it.

Aha, I see dragging into the playlist pane makes it work. This is clearly a case of an unfamiliar interface, my apologies and thanks for pointing it out. I'll put a bit more effort into seeing how to shape it to my preferences before complaining on the forum.

I'm using my old Dell mouse so I actually do have standard right click behaviour :)
