Second line when I created this thread:
Best skin I found was DarkOne v4.0, which did not run great on my OLED screen with different scaling. DarkOne MOD2 did better, but was not perfect too.

Why do you think, I still call it DarkOne v4.0 although not a single line of code is left from the original skin?

You don't like my skin, I get that, and I don't care.
Point is if you want to promote the original TedGo script, create your own thread instead of trolling mine.

And with that I leave you with a gift ... a screenshot of my skin as close I can get to the original TedGo one without butchering panels.

Is your "gift" meant as a better version(!?), it is nowhere near the original, that is just ape-shit ugly.
As you say, not much is left of tedgo's unique theme... why not rename your clusterfuck theme to Defender?

This might come as a surprise. Ever heard of follow Now playing or Follow selected track (playlist)?
Watch the attached video.

Also a better shot of my vintage DarkOne v4.0 layout, first image had no padding between panels and still had lots of gradients, bezels and accents applied.
I just saw I forgot to disable the painting of the search box and audiocontrol box, but I guess you get the picture :-)
EDIT: I also forgot to set vertical padding between buttonbar and top panels, also I did not resize the Bottom Panel height to the same values as v4.0, bummer. Fortunately all these layout settins are just a mouseclick away.

You already made it clear you don't like the skin ... which is fine.

As a tribute to Tedgo's original skin I will keep DarkOne v4.0 forever in the name of the skin.

There is nothing secretive. As a kind of pilot I went a bit more public with the skin.
It is published on google drive therefore I need an email address to share it with and people probably won't like to enter their email address over here.

This pilot also gives me the opportunity to address some small issues people might have installing the skin, get feedback and bug reporting.
No bugs have been reported, but based on questions how to use the skin I made a series of videos.

I include one as a sample.

Sure... why not share your "Defender" theme on github so interested members can try your version of DarkOne4, give you some feedback, or are there any reasons not to make it public?

Requiring email address to be able to test your theme sounds like an old-fashioned scam, why anyone would fall for that is beyond me...

Please let's keep the wording a bit more civilized. Taste is subjective. I have removed another post that was basically just repeating what you said here already. It's perfectly fine to say you find it ugly (although probably not a nice thing to say, why not just move on to another thread), but we don't have to use other colorful adjectives, do we?

Yes, i don't like this either, it would be better if the download was made publically available. Access can easily be allowed for everyone. If there is some included content that would prevent this, then it has to be taken care of first, otherwise it's not fit for public release anyway.

@Defender, please make sure to do this. Invite-only downloads are not the way to go here.

He can't. Me, however... 😉

But it's better if you make the requested changes voluntarily. This "PM for download" method is either used when there's something shady going on, or when you want to distribute something to a very select group of people, when it's not ready for broader availability for some reason. For example a bugfix for something very specific in your software, that you want some people to test first.

This method should not really be used for skins. Either you stand by your skin and everything is legit with it, and now you want other people to enjoy it too. Then you upload it and share it freely. Or something is not fully legit with it or you have some other reservations, then you can keep it for yourself, or put in extra work to make it legit. There should be no grey area where you distribute this "under the counter" via PM.

And here's another general reminder to keep the tone civil on this forum, we don't need people get aggressive with their tone. If there's an issue that you can't solve amongst yourselves, talk to the forum staff.

I apologize, you are absolutely right, I promise not to make a fuss about this substandard interpretation of Tedgo's skin ever again.
