Need Help! Mp1 33Kbps

1) How do you know they are not mp1layer1?

2) You can calculate bitrate - at least approximately - by filesize divided by number of seconds (multiply by 8 to get kilobits rather than kilobytes). Do you get a reasonable answer?

2) What does VLC tell you about the file? VLC often determines content from content rather than from extensions or headers (checking to see if you get fooled).

3) Can you use ffmpeg? ffmpeg -i, what information does that give?

1) The only way i know is from Explorer Properties of the specific file, telling that its Mp3. So i'm not sure if it really is.

2) I hate math.

3) Vlc also shows that the files are Mp1

4) Do i have to convert the files to ffmpeg?

I tried removing All Pictures from Files with Foobar and Mp3tag... nothing changes.

Probably because the files have a .mp3 extension.

Seriously? It is a quick way to see if the bitrate really is 33Kbps

No, -i alone will just show you what the file contains

Well seriously. It takes you way less time to read off a filesize and divide by tracklength than it takes us to debug your problems with files you downloaded from G-d knows where. Even if that means converting file to bits and length to seconds. But in the very least you could read off filesize and tracklength and post them ... ?

Now playing:
Bonnie Taylorseries' Loving math is a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it

It's likely that the damage is already bigger than your last-known-good ID3 size.
