Using foobar in Ubuntu -- finding networked folder

I want to run foobar on my Ubuntu box. Linux based music players allow me to add a networked folder to my library -- I can browse through their file system to my Win7 box's mp3 folder. But Under Ubuntu and Wine, Foobar doesn't see the Win7 folder.  Anybody know how to do this? No Linux player I've found does what I like about foobar -- have the library in a panel on left, easy to randomize, search by genre, etc. etc.  I am new to Ubuntu, so I need help, thanks.

Yes, I tried this and get 'error!' for drive F (which I made for foobar). I am not expert in ubuntu at all, so probably am doing something wrong. /home/<username>/.gvfs, right? Are there spaces anywhere? user name in brackets or not? username is my ubuntu box's User account name? The music files are in subdirectory on Win7 box's D drive if that matters . Sorry to be so thick. All new to me. As I said, for example, Deadbeef music player can find this folder location and add files, but I prefer Foobar. Thanks

also tried with username no brackets (used wine config menu to browse to username location) then added .gvfs -- same result

i thought wine automatically maps drive z: to your linux file system. you should be able to browse that from within foobar?

(admittedly it's been a good few years since i last dabbled with it. )

Drive Z is the linux machine's drive. I need to get Foobar to browse via my linux machine through my network to my win 7 drive shared folders . Foobar can see the right music folders on my Linux machine but all the music lives elsewhere.

GVFS is Gnome Virtual File System. Are you using standard, current Ubuntu?

Maybe this is your problem:

I don't have a Linux box handy at the moment, sorry.

I don't know if a moderator can do much, but this would probably get more attention in the WINE thread linked in the second post - WINE has never been a supported option for foobar2000, and most active users watch that thread. Although it's very quiet now - either everything works "good enough", or everyone's moved to VMs.

Using Zorin OS v 8.1. I think you posted on my thread there, though I use a different name in that forum. You sent me here.
