Searching custom columns

Is there any way to search custom columns? Perhaps through some add-on?

In Library Search, just use something like "%my_fieldname% HAS whatyousearchfor" or "%my_rating% GREATER 70". If you want certain fields to be added to the fields that are searched when just entering an expression, have a look to the Preferences > Advanced > Tools > Search Filters. By default, all custom fields (except LOGFILE and CUESHEET) should be included.

Thanks, but by "customs columns", I meant custom columns, not custom fields.

E.g. If I have I custom column showing TINT ( http://www.tango.info/wiki/TINT ). Tracks don't have TINT in one field. Despite that manual search of the tracklist finds a TINT in the TINT column, FB2K search does not.

TINT column

But the TINT column somehow uses titleformatting to display it, right? Is the TINT stored in the %path%?

If the column uses a complicated syntax to calculate its value, try foo_dynfil. With it you can create custom fields which are not stored in the files' tags, but available everywhere for display and searching. It would allow you to introduce a "field" named %_tint% based on any titleformatting expression which then could be searched with Library Search.

Sure. It simply combines the GTIN, discnumber and track number to show e.g. 02480001070321-2-3

No and no.

Thanks. Where's the homepage? In this forum I find only passing mentions.

Sorry, no homepage, just an old thread called foo_DAR taken over. This post contains the latest beta. The second thread DADA deals with the idea (date dependent fields) which lead to the development of the component (thanks to Yirkha!).
