Winamp, the Ultimate Media Player, is now available in beta on AndroidTM (Android 2.1 OS and above). It offers a complete media management solution by seamlessly syncing with the Winamp desktop library. In addition to high quality playback and persistent player controls, Winamp for Android offers wireless desktop sync with your Winamp desktop application (Winamp 5.59 beta required). Standard USB syncing also available.

I have this up and running on my Droid Incredible (which has Android 2.2 installed).  It isn't a bad player but I gave up on Winamp for desktop use 7+ years ago when I switched to Apple's closed ecosystem.  It is still nice to have an alternative for media playback as Android's built-in music player is rather ho-hum.  I think I will start using this as my default media player on my Incredible.

Happy HTC Legend user here, still running Android 2.1, hopefully not for very much longer.

I've taken their survey and select as top priorities Gapless playback and ReplayGain support for (LAME) MP3's.
