Editable Selection Properties Panel in DUI

It is possible to get a write cursor for the values of Selection Properties Panel in DUI - but writing seems to be impossible.
Is there a way to use the properties panel in a similar way as the properties window? I can't find any concerning setting.

that's not possible. but you can make a button or keyboard shortcut to open the properties dialog for the current selection.

I have an assigned shortcut for the properties dialog window, but I would love to have an editable properties panel.

Why is it possible to invoke the write cursor when editing isn't allowed?

The cursor is there for copying purposes.
