Use media library as a playlist

Hi!

This is my first post, since this has really been bugging me!
First of all... I searched the forum, as any good new member does, went through the five pages of results and decided to post
I tried out foobar2000 and liked it a lot, the only small annoyance is that I cant continue playing the next item in line in the media library search.

I do not wish to use the playlist, at least not visibly. When you playback an item in the media library of winamp, it continues to play the next in line because it adds the complete media library to your current playlist. This is the kind of similar function I'm looking for.

1. Search, 2. click, 3. play ---> 4. continue playing the search results.

Can anyone please help me with this?

Regards
Klumpen

So you already know the answer, but reject it for unbeknown reasons...
Sorry man, that's really the only answer your going to get.

Library Viewers like the Library Search (and Album List and Facets and etc.) are used for constructing playlists in foobar2000.
There's not really a way or reason for fb2k to try to emulate how other programs act.

If I rephrase what I mean: I wish to use the media library search as my playlist.
Do you know if it's possible?

1. Search, 2. click, 3. play ---> 4. continue playing the search results.

is better than:

1. Search, 2. select all files, 3. right click add to playback queue, 4 play. ----> continue playing the search results.
(doing this also looses any focus on what is currently playing or what is next)

Instead of having both playlistwindow and medialibrary search window, wouldn't it be preferable to have one window instead of two? (considering that you only wish to play songs in album order - which I do)

Thank you!

you can make that behavior with:
1. preferences > media library: tick on enable library viewer selection playlist
2. add playlist view to your layout below "media library search" element, and drag it window vertically to the top so that only input box remains from media library search element
