I have a 1 month old Juli@ in a 2 channel audio system. Previously, using the on board digital out into a DAC and never had this issue before the Juli@. It plays fine, However, the bass extention is poor, in the 192Khz setting it plays to about 100hz, in the 44khz it rolls off even higher. I am using the balanced output into a preamp. I have not found any control for low pass settings and am not sure how to proceed. Thanks

Here's the weird thing....    It's impossible to accidently alter the frequency response in the digital domain. 

So, I'm thinking something is configured for "bass management", like the bass is being sent to a non-existant subwoofer, or something like that.  That would probably be the DAC that's set-up wrong.  Does your DAC have an unused subwoofer output?

Or, your soundcard might have an equalizer utility that somehow got misadjusted.  If the soundcard has any bass management options, these won't usually affect the digital output.

Can you post some RMAA test results for frequency response?

The usual cause of low end rull off is output coupling capactors that are too simall given the low input impedance of the next component in the chain. If you a passive tap for a set of headphones you can *really* roll off the bass for some audio interfaces.

Just to follow up, Florida Music replaced the card and all was well. I sold it and have been on the quest for sound card happiness ever since. So far nothing has sounded as good as the on board Realtek. I use only the digital out.

Well, then, if you used onboard digital out, then it is not the sound of Realtek, but of the real DAC.
