My headphones are dead... time for a new set

My blessed little Sony MDR-G72's (http://www.flickr.com/photos/penmachine/193617232/) - they fold up so tiny! and sound just as flat as I need - finally decided they had had enough today when I got the cord caught around my arm and yanked it.

Now I've got karaoke-power where one channel has inverted and been merged with the other, giving me the difference between both channels as a mono signal. Its interesting.. but a little frustrating..

So I am after something new. I'd sooner head in the direction of larger, foldable ones than smaller in-ear ones (I worry about my hearing, and have tiny earholes).

I'm open to ideas... I don't need closed ear types, and I don't need to worry too much about blocking other sound out... having said that I don't want to irritate my co-workers by having really audible cans..

Things that look interesting include

Sennheiser PMX100

I see grado's kicking around.. but I dunno.. they seem kinda clunky... I'd be interested in things around US$100.. give or take...

Your thoughts/experiences would be greatly appreciated

I own the PX100 and like them.
Unfortunate;y they are very open and you'll
have to share your musical enjoyment with your
coworkers.

Grado's iGrado may be of interest for you (street wear style technically based on the SR60).
High frrequency behavior is not loved by quite some people but can be improved by using for instance the Sennheiser PX100's pads.

Koss sound is similar to Grado's and the portaPro and even the small and cheap KSC-75 are very interesting.

I got the KSC-75 and use them when in a train or for other outdoor use. I like them.

I have the PX100: good sound, foldable. Very nice.
KSC75: incredible value. Easily worth 3x the $15 I paid for them.

Nether can touch the Grado SR60 for sound, however. Clearly superior, albeit bigger and clunkier.

The PX100 sound good, but again, you'll be sharing your music with everyone around you.  The PX-200's are almost the same, BUT no one else can hear what you're listening to, and they also do a good job about keeping ambient noise out.  Great for portable players, lightweight, and foldable so they store easily.

I have seen reviews that say the bass of the PX200s is not as good as the PX100. I certainly seem to hear more bass when I gently squeeze the 200s onto my ears. I bought 100s after 200s, and prefer the 100s. It would be worth comparing the two.

Thanks for all your help guys.. I went for the PX200s in the end because I really can't have tinsel-sounds blaring from my head in my workplace
