DSP chain (with resampler) order

Hello,

I think this a a general audio question.

I have an sb audigy 2 zs notebook soundcard and fb2k. SB soundcard is why I use the fb2k pphs resampler (44.1->48). Sometimes I use dsp like crossfaders or a noise sharpening dsp.

What's better: resampler at the beginning or end? And why?
I'm pretty sure I'll not be able to ABX anything, but there may be mathematical reasons?

Thx

I have my DSP chain in the following order in foobar2000 0.8.3:

PPHS Resampler (44.1 > 48)
Convert Mono to Stereo (because I use ASIO output)
Crossfeed (I know this probably should be above the mono > stereo DSP, but this way imitates speaker playback as mono would have crosstalk just the same)
Advanced Limiter
Acid8000 aka. PhilDEE
