Final Scratch Vs. Serato (DJ's let's hear your preference!

i know this discussion has been about serato and final scratch, but there are actually other great options for much less cash.

ms.pinky is supposed to be really good for scratching, i know with some setups the cue point mght drift, making accurate very fast scratching damn near impossible.

djdecks is what i use and really really incredible. it reads final scratch vinyl, serato vinyl, vdj vinyl, some knockoff called 'synq' vinyl...and you can use any soundcard that is capable.

sometimes i use djdecks only which is alright, but more for a pinch. the looping and effects really make the performance more expressive. sometimes i use both djdecks and vinyl which is a really amazing powerhouse. mix the good shit on wax and then when somebody requests willie nelson at the end of the night you can work that in even if you never thought to bring it.

as 'old technology' as records are, they are a wonderully expressive, tactile instrument, and it will be some time before they are let go of in favor of 'better technology'. did rhodes put the baldwin piano co out of business? hardly.

And you can't beat DJing with pink vinyl!

I looked at DJDecks, and it didn't exactly strike me as a real professional piece of software.  Maybe I'll give it a second look though.
