Question about a "temporary location" in "tools > converter" advanced options.

Where is this temporary location?
Is it possible to change / choose it?

It's in the location meant for temporary files. You can modify it by changing the %TEMP% environment variable to point to another location.

Before changing %TEMP% ... think over that you will slow down lots of applications (like unpacking archives) if you move it away from the fastest drive, typically the internal C:.

If it is on the C drive (which is a SSD drive), I don't want Foobar to write temporary files there all the time. It wears the SSD down.

It would be great if this temporary location for Foobar could be in the physical memory or if it could be selected by the user.

Useless options are not great. You will almost certainly have replaced your SSD drive along with your entire computer before the drive is even close to dead because of normal use.
