Unwanted deletion of playlist content

I'm using foobar2000 v2.1.2. 64-bit (portable) and Windows 11.
I set foobar2000 as default for mp3 files.
When I open any mp3 file on disk, foobar2000 starts and the mp3 file shows up in the playlist.
Unfortunately, the mp3 file is visible in the playlist that was last used, the "old" content of this playlist is cleared.
How can I fix it?

Navigate to Preferences -> Shell Integration. Enable the option "Always send new files to playlist:" and give the playlist a name you want. That way any time you open files from shell they go to the chosen playlist and won't affect your active normal playlist.
