Remote control options

I understand that on the Apple Remote for iPad and iPhone you can control the playback, playlists, etc in Foobar.  I've been trying to come up with ways to control it similarly with a Windows or Apple computer.  I want my client to be able to control all of this, but not actually have access to Foobar.

Any ideas?

No, I mean using the UPnP or TouchRemote plugins.  I can control it via my iPhone but I'd like to control it via an app.  I found a few things but they've mostly been abandoned and don't seem to work right.
