Is there a way to find the bit of a FLAC and ALAC file?

I would like to know if FLAC files I get are in 8, 16, or 24 bit. Is there a way to find this out? Also, I have a program to convert FLAC to ALAC for my iPod, but it doesn't let me choose the bit. Is there a way to find that out a well? Thanks.

Typically you can right-click on the files as displayed in the player/converter and select "Properties" or something similar.  What player/converter are you using?
