Can I use LAME.DLL? Pretty Please?

With the DLL I can rip and encode an entire album in the time it takes for the crusty LAME.EXE to encode 2 lousy songs and I'm really pissed about it.

I know I can't use all the fancy switches but I don't plan to anyway.  I've done some searches and haven't been able to find a complete list of the differences between the DLL at 128-320VBR and the EXE at preset-standard.  Figured if anyone knew it'd be you guys.

What about just plain old 256 CBR?  If I encode 'em that way is there any difference between EXE and DLL at all?

Apologies if this is right in front of my face (I'll play the noob card).  Any links to applicable threads or sites would be appreciated.

As far as i know the dll is just the win32 encoded version of the sourcecode and doing exact the same thing the command aka exe version is doing.

I never did a bit/bit compare but i bet that the dll encoded file is the same file compared to the exe encoded one.
The dll is just the none command version used by many frontends and win32/mfc programms.

Btw the dll and frontends use the presets wich are the same than in the exe. (look for dbpowerAMP or All2Lame ...) they can use the dll.

For dbpowerAMP i know that u can use switches or the presets (standard/insane.....) too.

If you are so pissed off about the speed at which Lame encodes, have you tried the fast presets? In my experience they encode considerably faster than the non-fast preset at almost the same quality (indistinguishable to me).

Use FastEnc if you really want to sacrifice quality for speed like you're doing by using the Lame DLL rather than the EXE...

Being a little more friendly and answer what others ask you instead of saying see you in hell. You pretty much lost any useful response from those who have taken offense.
