There are plenty of other MUCH better devices than this.
My Archos multimedia player is 20Gb and has over 6 hours battery life. It is certainly far from perfect, but its still quite an awesome little device. And these sort of things are only going to get better. B)

Well, afaik both the ipod and Archos jbmm have similar problems - battery replacement being the main one. They can also only play mp3 - not ogg or mpc or flac, and the present models probably can never play these formats (though can ipod play aac?) . And the ipod is just a little    more expensive - tho they are coming down ...

The IPAQ can already play mp3 Ogg wav and a few other formats.  I think I can remember someone saying it can play flac too!!!

However, I think it will be able to play aac/mp4 files soon, as I remember someone at audiocoding.com working on it.  We may even see mpc on it one day, as soon as I can get in touch with the developer of GSPlayer.

It can also play full length movies, including XviD DivX

You can also get battery expansion packs to get it to last twice as long!!!

And also very good for the car using a cigarette lighter

[edit]

It can even work with WiFi

The major problem with that is you have to use a PCMCIA sleeve if you're using an IPaq or a CF to PCMCIA adapter on other Pocket PC's.  That adds quite a bit of bulk and wiring *mess* to the otherwise clean lines of a Pocket PC.  The storage brick driver has been around quite a while now and there was alot of talk on brighthand.com on what drives and such worked.  It's pretty cool, but I'd rather just have my Pocket PC and iPod as separate units.  If I want music on my Pocket PC, I'll just fill up my 512MB CF card or get a Microdrive.

The innovative aspect is pretty cool though.
