Good <$100 IEMs?

I've been researching for a pair of IEMs under or around $100.

(I don't want to pay too much because I don't trust myself to keep these in a pristine condition and not lose them when I'm "on the go". )

My ideal pair would have particularly good bass response, because my usual genre of music is drum & bass. I also can't equalize due to shitty software on my player.

What I've heard is that the Sennheiser CX series isn't that good. On the hand, I've heard the IE 8 is very good, but it is WAY too expensive for something that I'll be lugging around in my bag. I haven't heard much of anything about the IE 4, but it fits my price range, is it any good? I'm not sure how true all this gossip is, but I'd like to get some other opinions.

Of course, things that don't exactly fit the bill are fine too, I just want to see what's out there.

Thanks all!

FWIW, I briefly tried the Klipsch Image S4's ($99) several months ago - way, way too much bass for me, but if you're looking for a huge, thumping low end, those will deliver in spades.

On the plus side, they were quite comfortable, and they seem to be quite durable from what I've read.

i recall having heard somwhere (on head-fi iirc) that the sennheiser ie 4 are not manufactured, but just branded by, sennheiser.
using the IE 6 and happy with the bass (but they're a bit above 99 bucks)

Definitely the audéo PFE. If you like a decent amount of bass get the PFE 012 ("perfect bass"), if you prefer a more balanced sound get the 012 + grey audio filters or get the 112 (identical to the 012 with grey filters plus additional accessoires).

You can find an informative review of the PFE at ABI

I won't make a recommendation because I don't own IEMs...

GoodCans.com[/u] has some recommendations at various price points.

The Grado iGi[/u] is in your price range.  Grado has a long reputation for good sound quality in any price range, but I don't know about the bass response.  (I have a pair of Grado headphones, and they are not particularly "bassy".)
