how do I turn off certain frequencies output for speakers?

i have a Logitech r-20 2.1 stereo speakers and it doesn't have any bass and treble controls. Is there any software that can make it play only certain frequencies but not the full range which most equalizers do?

You can use any half-decent equalizer to fake out a crossover, just by lowering the undesired frequencies' responses. Alternatively, use foo_convolve.

where can you download foo_convolve?

On the foobar2000 components page, 2nd from the bottom is "Impulse response convolver". Note that this is only useful if you are using foobar as your audio player. It's also not at all user friendly -- you have to create an impulse file to use it.

I'd just go with a normal equalizer. The standard graphic eq that comes with foobar is quite good. Heck, the winamp eq or whatever is built into your sound card drivers will be sufficient. You won't be able to tell the difference, those speakers don't have the sound quality.
