Fixing slight stutters in a live mix

I have some mp3s of a continuously mixed CD.  I have it in one large file with cue sheet at 160kbps.  I have also found it in 192kbps, but it it was encoded without encoder delay and padding, so there are slight stutters as it switches tracks.  It's not a huge deal, but I like my mixes smooth.

Is there any good way to losslessly edit the 192kbps mp3s to add encoder delay and padding or whatever it would take to get them to play back smoothly?  Also, how bad is reencoding an mp3?  I could probably decode to wav, edit out the pauses and reencode, but at that point, would the end product be any better than the 160kbps that I already have?

No, but at least the gaps would be gone
..but as that other thread suggests, you might not even be able to hear the degredation.

You could losslessy split this with pcutmp3, which will add the lame gapless tags.

Edit: Btw, this will be a better solution than reencoding the files, because there will still be a gap where the audio got cut off
Can't wait for a HD-AAC encoder :P
