Can't Rip to FLAC Using CDEX

I'm trying to rip to Flac using CDEX, but it gives me an  error saying it can't send to external encoder (Flac encoder from Flac Frontend). I don't have the problem if I use the program's other encoders. I have read all the guides I could find (not lots of them out there) and still can't find what's wrong. Anyone has any idea?

PS I don't use EAC because it has caused physical damage to my computer...

It would be easier to help you if you'd post a bit more information about what settings you use or what commandline you use to send to the FLAC encoder.

On a related note, I've just released the latest beta build of my Wavpack4Wavelab plugin for Wavelab 5.  See the thread here.

It includes the latest 4.3 code, and now has some neat tricks like tag support, and being able to save self-extracting .exe's straight from Wavelab.

and I am using CDex 1.5.1 and Flac Frontend 1.7.1

MY first thought is that the instructions were writting with a much older version of Flac. 1.1.2a if I'm not mistaken. Could the setup be different with 1.7.1?

Any help would be appreciated on this.

Chances are you've figured that out already, after all this time... but for future reference  I had the same problem: you probably have copied-pasted the string found in that web site (-8 -o %2 -T “artist=%a” -T “title=%t” -T “album=%b” -T “date=%y” -T “tracknumber=%tn/%tt” -T “genre=%g” -), and it gives that error indeed. It's enough to substitute "english" inverted commas with regular ones... et voilà!
