MPC Encoder using APE

Am I just missing a setting or will a future encoder support APE tags?  Going through and using Tag to convert the ID3 output from the 1.0 encoder to APE is tedious, but now that I've gotten APE I refuse to step back to truncated tags.

In a related issue when I try to change from ID3 to APE in the Winamp plugin it tells me that "perhaps the file is write-protected."  Anybody know the status on this functionality?

Encoders don't inserts any kind of tags to files, at least not the current ones. You are probably using EAC to insert ID3 tags. Hopefully EAC author adds support for APE tags in the future.

Again, encoder does not insert any tags. Frontend you use inserts them. There is no need to go back to ID3 tags, APE will be fully supported format in MPC. So any program compatible with MPC should add support sooner or later.

Hadn't tried it myself, but it seems to be broken indeed. I can make unofficial fix for it. I'll post a link here when it's done.

The file is edited from 0.92b, and it now saves correctly both tag types.

Edit: Reuploaded, corrected a bug of not being able to save APE tag to files without tag.

Edit2: Changed link to new modified version. Official plugin has same bugs as 0.91.
