Experiencing UI lags with Windows 8: any help on best settings?

Long time user (0.9 and 1.1) I'm now trying to install FB 1.3.8 on a Windows 8 (eight).
It works but I'm experiencing a lot of annoying UI locking ups while using FB.
When it locks, in the title bar there is "(not responding)".

For now I left unchecked both "compatibility" and "run as admin" properties.

I mapped the remote drive where the music is as a network drive that connects
every time the PC starts so in the Media library I have three folders with paths like these:
M:\All music\
M:\Opera lirica\
M:\Spoken\

Thanks for listening.

Are you able to test by nesting the folders

e.g.

M:\Music\All music\
M:\Music\Opera lirica\
M:\Music\Spoken\

and then share M:\Music\ and add it to the media library. Make sure you remove the previous folder monitoring that is in the media library.
Who are you and how did you get in here ?
I'm a locksmith, I'm a locksmith.

Thanks for answering.

I removed all the folders from the media library.
It took quite a while for each one of them.

Then I added the bigger one of them again  but as a network path
and it seems to work correctly.

I will make some other test in the week end.

Thanks.
